Proposed Boundary Extension to Ramsey

by

Ramsey Town Commissioners

Statement by the Chairman of Lezayre Parish Commissioners - Arthur Radcliffe

Although Lezayre Parish Commissioners have not had time to consider the implications of the proposed takeover bid by Ramsey, on the face of it we are totally opposed to what is being suggested.

Not only are there many practical consequences of such, a "land grab" but we consider the whole public enquiry process is deeply flawed.

Firstly, small rural authorities do not have the same financial resources to fund adequate legal representation as compared with urban authorities.

Secondly, and more importantly, for some unknown reason the enquiry cannot take into account any financial implications of a take over.  As these are the significant factors involved it means that a public inquiry is meaningless and in fact only a public relations exercise.

As the next meeting I intend to propose that Lezayre investigate the possibility of making a take over bid for Ramsey!

Your help requested from the Northern Parishes Refuse Collection Service

Covid 19

To keep the drivers safe they are requesting that we share the following message

If all residents would please put their bins on the edge of their properties, so that     the bin men can collect them easily. They will not be able to go and get them from near the house. To assist further please wipe the bin handles down when placing them out for collection and then wipe the bin handles again before you touch them to bring your bin back to your property.  Every little bit of cleaning helps.

Thank you
